I guess that it must be hard to mantain a staff working in a top engine like Houdini without any support. I mean for support , several skilled persons and money.....
Thx a lot.

In general, Each author has the option of choosing the best way to him, if Non-commercial or commercial.
Anyways, his project + his dream = his decision, so the others should respect this.

The author, to whom we are all grateful, is certainly entitled to go commercial, but I think the engine then probably will be read & cloned like Rybka's. I suspect the days when authors can become rich off expensive chess engines are over. Besides, the free competition is already so close & extremely strong.
However if he can sell it cheap enough with an excellent interface that challenges Chessbase then that might be a good idea. Anyway I hope it and others stay free.

Each author must be respected; I only wanted to notice that I think that supporting a project and a dream having reached to be the numer one, generally means to have money..... But i respect all the authors. On the other hand, i can see that Chessbase ® , just as an example, had and has money support but they couldnt mantain a number one engine.......
