[quote]Q: What do you think of Vas’s story?
A: On careful analysis it is evident that beyond his opening statement, which is quite interesting and bears watching a few times to pick up on the nuances, he had very little to say about the ICGA’s specific findings and it is obvious that he isn’t really engaged in the issue at all. “It’s like chatting about the weather,” he says tellingly late in the interview. I conclude that he has not read the evidence against him closely. He says he is “familiar” with it but given his diffident responses I conclude he couldn’t be. To me this is the real news: his reputation may be dragged through the mud, media outlets may be reporting that he has plagiarized, cheated, etc., but Vas has an attitude that the charges are rubbish, therefore he doesn’t need to take them seriously, and he is not going to waste a lot of time, energy and emotional capital fighting baseless, trumped-up charges put together by people with agendas. In my view he has just tuned the whole matter out as though it were background noise.-Nelsan Hernandez[quote]

Vas says that once the ICGA accepted Rybka into the championship they can't go back and retroactively ban it, mentions that Fruit is not a bitboard program so no code could be copied, complains about being singled out, says only public domain code was copied from Crafty.
____
Something of an about turn
He has always said his ideas and code were 100% original
~~~
Vas mentions that Fruit is not a bitboard program so no code could be copied, complains about being singled out, says only public domain code was copied from Crafty.
Wrong !!
AS Doctor R Hyyatt (Crafty engine inventor )reminds us all
"except there is no "public domain" code in Crafty for him to copy, with the exception of Random(). And in recent versions, Pradu's Magic move genrator stuff, which was not there when this copying happened "
~~-~~
Vas says " I had no idea Fabien had made any complaint to the IGGA "
Wrong !!
emails sent to him by the IGGA and posted on open chess.org PROVE him a liar over that !!
