there is no engine with 3050 for now in IPON, does that mean that if Houdini 3 is released now no one of the current engines can beat him even once? :D
not even houdini 2
not even houdini 2

Chan, he said "at least 3050 Elo in the IPON list", IPON, not husvankempen list.
And in IPON the best engine has 3017.
1 Houdini 2.0 STD 3017 10 11 4350 79% 2784 25%
Or 3022 if you make tourney with best 20 engines.
1 Houdini 2.0 STD 3022 12 12 2850 77% 2812 26%

Oh yes, there is !
You will notice that as the number of cores keeps on increasing, especially in a 64 bit OS, Houdini 2s lead keeps on increasing over Houdini 1.5.
This is borne out by my own experiences with my six-core Intel I7 3930k o/c to 4.8 Ghz with 32 GB Corsair RAM and using Houdini 2.0 c.
I consistently beat people using Houdini 1.5c.
Houdini 2.0c really likes the extra cores and takes full advantage of the extra power I can provide it

Houdini Chess Engine
Some news about the Houdini Development.
We've started working on Houdini 3. Release is scheduled for the second half of the year, probably in September 2012.
The current development version is about 25 Elo stronger than Houdini 2 (45 Elo stronger than Houdini 1.5), we hope to add some more strength in the coming months.
Of course all current Houdini 2 customers will get a nice discount for Houdini 3!
This is based on how many games? and Fast or Long Time Controls ?

A test run comprises 27,000 games at ultra-fast TC and 3,600 games at blitz, against 9 different engines.
