I wanted to have an engine with accurate ELO levels. You can adjust the ELO rating between 1000 and 2600 ELO. It is tuned to fit the old SSDF values which seem to fit most the human ratings. I think the deviation is max +/- 20 ELO. Just below 1400 it is hard to classify.
The weakenig is only done by a limitation of the speed, just like the engine would be used on very slow hardware. There are no functions to do stupid mistakes.
The playing style looks very nice to me, the knowledge of a strong engine with tactical weaknesses results in a human like style, at least compared with dedicated units of this strength.
Use it with ponder on, there might be problems with ponder off under some guis.
