I will be running a new series of tests, and the top books of the multiple batches of tests will compete in CTG Book Bash I. The winning books qualified for CTG Book Bash I will be substituted for a newer version if there is one that comes out while I was testing. The purpose of setting preliminary testing is because there are too many books to test if I did it all in a 15+5 format... if I want statistical reliability.
CTG Preliminary Matchup Rules:
Time Control: 3 Min + 3 seconds
System Spec: 4670k @ 4.5ghz, Uncore @ 4.1ghz
Engine: Houdini 3 or Stockfish 4 (To be decided, may use both)
CTG Book Bash I (Grand Finale) Rules:
Time Control: 15 Min + 5 Seconds
Contenders: Top 10 from preliminary tests
I'm still new to Chessbase so setting up a proper tourney and verifying the tourney is spitting out valid results will take some time. If you are a book maker or have a book you wish to notify me of, feel free to post here or PM me if it's private. Won't leak the book, pinky promise. This isn't the first time I've done opening book tournies. No, I can't afford to buy books to test commercial books. If anyone can, ask other forums if they have any books they want to submit to this tourney. Contact book makers too! :D
Monks Absolute 3.1 [Possibly new version incoming]
Fauzi 2.7 Unsure if it will appear as a contender
XIII Legion Gemina
White & Black (June Version)
Hannibal Book Big
Steel Attack 11
The Sniper 5
Om Golem 2.2
1337 Chess Last Free Version
...Lots of other random books...

This will all take a long time right, and cost a lot of electricity. Bear with me.
This is an announcement, tournament has not started. I still have to fine tune some details. Check back to this original post for updates.
