Since new (strong) books became available, I'm planning to start a new "Openingbook test" this weekend.
Everyone who wants his or her book to join this contest, must send me a pm (personal mail) before Saturday 23:00 with the link of the book and settings.

Books will not be made public by me but the games played during this tournament will be published (pgn-format)

I also like to have a response on the following questions:

1) I prefer the following engine to be used for the testing (Houdini / Rybka / IvanHoe / ...)

2) Timecontrol should be (total per game + bonus sec. per move)
1 min. + 1 sec. / 1 min. + 2 sec. / 1 min. + 5 sec. / 3 min. total / 5 min. total.

3) I prefer a maximum of 10 books and 500 games each or a maxumum of 20 books and 250 games each.
(with a maximum of 10 books I might have to choose wich book will join the tournament ...)

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 Q- 975@ 3,91 GHz 6.00 GB RAM / Windows 7.x64 Ultimate
Fritz Benchmarks: Speed: 29.75 / KNS: 14277
GUI: CB Deep Fritz 12 / Both engines have 1024 Mb Hash
Ponder: ON / All engines use 4 cpu / threads / Book learning ON

Hope to receive some pm's :D

Greetings FlyingDutchman.

Hi Robin,

This is a personal initiative. I'm glad that on this forum there is room for such initiatives. I'm a curious person so that's why i'm doing this. If others are interested for the results then good luck with it. For the winner there is only the honor of being no.1 im my (private) testsession :D.
I do not pretend to organize a better Sedat-tournament because that's the no 1 tournament for openingbooks to my opinion.

Greetings,

FlyingDutchman.

again thank you very much
FlyingDutchman

personal initiative, great initiative.
Your effort and perseverance will pay off.
Gradually the tournament took its importance, no doubt.
As I and others Authors expect this initiative to test our books.
Others may not send them out of ignorance or fear of losing.

The daily tournament gets bigger.
At the end of the week will have a book of mine that I hope to participate.
I will pass the public and free.

PS:
Translated by google, if it sounds inconvenient, it is not my intención.SORRY

I hoped to get some reactions how the authors would like the tournament to be organized.
Till now I haven't received any reactions about that.

Which engine to use?

What should be the time settings?

How many books?

As stated in the intro, all games played will be published (pgn-format)

Greetings,

FlyingDutchman.

Sorry for not answering me.

Engine, I do not, Rybka or Houdini I'm not an expert to decide.

Playing time and number of game, nor is the difference, I think Mr FlyingDutchman should be decided according to your time for the tournament.

And the number of books, if possible all ...
if necessary to lower the amount of rounds.

Decisions will have to take them Mr FlyingDutchman, and what you decide will be fine ...
The end result should be the same anyway.
