TCEC Season 9

descriptionTCEC Season 9 - Page 2 EmptyRe: TCEC Season 9

Have to say that on paper it looks as if Stockfish has far the easier section to get into the next rounds. question

descriptionTCEC Season 9 - Page 2 EmptyRe: TCEC Season 9

Well no real surprise anywhere at the end of stage 1a

Stage 1a final standings

1. Komodo 14,0/15
2. Houdini 12,5/15
3. Rybka 11,5/15
4. Protector 10,5/15
5. Gull 10,0/15
6. Ginkgo 9,0/15
7. Hannibal 9,0/15
8. Raptor 7,5/15

If rumours are correct there will be a Komodo 10 and Houdini 5 going into the next round!!  Stockfish should win its own stage easy, no real opposition....
but.....there will be when it comes up against K10 and H5?!

Oh it looks as if someone (you) has removed the famous post predicting a Stockfish victory by 8 point win against Komodo in the TCEC final.  question  question

Of course it is no means certain that both engines will be even in the final, and as this post is 'The Reasons (in your view) TCEC Has not etc. etc.)'
could someone point out to you that it has started, so all in all a rather pointless post...yet again. rolleyes

How I wish I could place a big bet with you regarding your forecast of Stockfish beating Komodo by (at least) 5 points exclaim exclaim

Of course no matter what the result, if Stockfish is not the winner we can be certain that you will claim the result/tournament was rigged/wrong engine,  the weather
was not right etc.etc. rolleyes

Only the top 8 engines go into the next Stage. It is rumoured that there will be a new Houdini dev put in then (assuming it makes the top 8?!) No doubt there will be a new Stockfish dev to. Interesting to see if there will be a new up date to Komodo as well at some stage.

A certain someone "Mr.I Hate Komodo" is busy just now ranting out his normal stuff elsewhere! I expect we can expect his return here soon. cry

Not long to go now before the start of Stage 3, starts on Sat 23rd.  Of course Stockfish will get another update dev for this stage, but there will also be updates
to Komodo and Houdini, so should be interesting play ahead. thumb up

p.s. If a certain 'Mr.I Hate Komodo' keeps away from the chat room should be good to watch.
