Hi, most of the fun with it is to download the engine according to your own configuration and tune it for performance, and try different networks from early ones (barely trained) to mature ones, and appreciate how the chess skills & style of play evolved!
Maybe the future of computer chess, as you wrote Jaglo; as of today already a blast of fresh air to this domain.

The lc0 engine runs on the GPU, so it's hard to compare with other engines such as Stockfish. Maybe it's a good idea to use hardware (CPU and GPU) with the same level of power consumption?

Example:
Intel Xeon X5430x2 Octal = 2x 80W = 160 W
AMD Ryzen 7 2700X = 105 W
AMD Ryzen 7 1800X = 95 W
Intel Core i7-8700K = 95 W
Intel Core i5-8400 = 65 W

GeForce GTX 1080 = 180 W
GeForce GTX1060 = 120 W
GeForce GTX 1050 Ti = 75W

It would also be useful to select computer hardware from the same year.

In TCEC LCZero v19-31647 (8185.34 Elo) lost the match against LCZero v19-11248 (4785.12 Elo) Almost two times stronger version lost to weaker. Or maybe the 11248 network is stronger than 31647? After this match it could be inferred. vWhat do you think about it?

hi folks, ...I have a computer with AMD PhenomII x6 1090T 3.20 GHz, with 8.00 Gb ram, I can create the exe in my Fritz Chess Gui 16. (Lc0 19.1 rc1), (blas) the program makes the book open, but then only appears the time counts, and does not play any more, it spends all the time without making any bid, is there anything in the modulator parameter that needs to be changed? ... if anyone already had this experience please give me a hint .. hug

There are still issues with the CPU version.

One of the developers told me:

Lc0 cannot really use many cores. It's pretty easy to implement but noone needed that. I started implementing it for TCEC in June but then they announced that they would have GPU, so no use case for CPU.

I have an i5-3320 processor and it works for both the CPU and the GPU version (in my case it is an Intel HD4000 card integrated with the CPU). LC0 version 0.19. When starting the GPU version, you have to wait a while after the first loading of the engine until the file "leelaz_opencl_tuning" is created. You should also be prepared for the fact that the engine requires a fast processor. On the other hand, according to the tests, the positional game is already at a quite high level ("gcp" and "typp" tests) - 33/63. The average depth of analysis is only 3.66 for solved tasks. And that's enough.

The Intel GPU is not used here inside Shredder GUI and inside Arena GUI. I can only check blas not opencl.
It works inside command prompt, I see the GPU working with taskmanager. And the endgames are horrible Long..., syzygy bases do not help much.

but something must be wrong here, I do not trust the Output, it Looks like coinsidence:

The positional game of this engine is at a higher and higher level. Today I saw an impressive result in the gcp_and_typp test (total 63 positions):

1) If you want to use a processor, download this file: https://github.com/LeelaChessZero/lc0/releases/download/v0.19.1.1/lc0-v0.19.1.1-windows-blas.zip

If you have a fast graphics card AMD, download this file:
https://github.com/LeelaChessZero/lc0/releases/download/v0.19.1.1/lc0-v0.19.1.1-windows-opencl.zip

If NVidia, download:
https://github.com/LeelaChessZero/lc0/releases/download/v0.19.1.1/lc0-v0.19.1.1-windows-cuda.zip

2) Unpack the contents into the engines directory
lc0.exe is an engine.

3) Download net from https://lczero.org/networks/

For example number 32282: https://lczero.org/get_network?sha=bdefac7a86cc924f91b0b744f347728564700e7ea6112c87c75c3681a19a0083

4) Copy net gz-file to directory. Unpack (I use 7Zip)
Network file name is 256x20-2018_1226_2142_36_936.pb (e.g.). This file should be in the directory

5) Add engine in Fritz.
You do not need to point to a network file in parameters. The file in the subdirectory will be loaded automatically.

Well you will need inside the folder... LC0 (engine) Client(exe) weights file .pb or txt
The Neural net 256000 or 200000 ect and a file called Leela net your have to click on the client file first (while online) and register on the LC0 testing network put in a username and password then after registering click on the LC0 engine and it should start working...Then it will play as normal Good Luck smile
