It's new (cause 1.0 exist) but it appears more than 1 month. To my tournaments it seams very strong, one of the ten best engines... (very close to Hiarcs 13.2 or Deep Junior 12 to compare with commercial engine).
Have a look too at the new Spike (1.4)! Very stonger that a the last version. To me, Spike is back on the top.

A derivative of Gull 1.2 (program structure, board representation, move generators etc.) & Ivanhoe (versions 63 & 46: evaluation).
Whether future versions will retain Ivanhoe's evaluation is still undecided.
Gull II beta supports multi-core CPUs. For now parallel algorithms are pretty basic, and performance gain isn't very good.
P.S. Gull employs processes instead of threads for the sake of code simplicity.
P.P.S. This version may be buggy (tested only on my home PC). That's why it is a beta :)

I get an error message that says: "The procedure entry point InterlockedCompareExchange64 could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll".

Well done to the Chess2U forum. The only forum I could find that announced the bugfixed release of Gull II b2 (released one day after the original), apart from the Gull website itself.
