Despite the close games, the Alekhine-Botvinnik match had a tight game. Lasker's repertoire of chess openings leads to quiet positional play. This was seen in the game against Pillsbury. The match against Rubinstein proceeds even more quietly because Rubinstein always opens d4.

The slightly sharper sixth game was followed by several quiet. In the eleventh Rubinstein chose the Sicilian defense and the game tightened up. In the twelfth Rubinstein chose the king's gambit, but even this did not produce a result. In case of a draw in the match, Lasker would retain the world title.

Such matches are a great idea! Something like I did in chessmaster 11.

Thanks. It would be nice if the developers of the strongest engines thought about implementing personality. The first chess programs had this, and now it is rare.

The next match will be Capablanca - Nimzowitsch. I've already seen that Nimzowitsch openings are interesting.
