I can't help noticing the post stickied above

THE COMPUTER CHESS AS IT SHOULD BE
We would prefer computer chess to follow the same natural way chess does. I have stopped using engines that are not an original work of their authors.

No reason not to test Rybka. An original engine from one of the most brilliant chess programmers of the last few years.

Seems like Rybka team wants to clean its image now after years of hypocritical bashing the competition for doing exactly as them. PLEASE !!!

Looks clear to me that Mr Rajlich is well connected to the Chessbase cartel. I personally don't mind using a Rybka 5 version (as long as it beat Houdini) but don't try to sell me an honest an "original" engine when there are no "saints" in this field. I remember quiet few members being banned from the Rybka forum for posting or mentioning engines that were "clones" and therefore prohibited in their rules.

Vasik Rajlich definitely broke my tournament rules by sending me pre-Rybka versions that were based on Crafty.

Then you were one of those Mr perfect no rule breaker like them before getting caught. LOL Far too many police in this world... I would love to see more thieves but not hypocrites like the Rybka team.

ICGA response to ChessBase 4-part article

David Levy wrote:

Subject: The ICGA's rebuttal to Soren Riis's article on Chessbase.com re
the Rybka scandal

This week Dr Soren Riis posted a four part article on Chessbase.com in a
somewhat belated attempt to defend Vasik Rajlich. Regular readers will
recall that Rajlich's actions led the International Computer Games
Association (ICGA) to find him guilty of breaking a crucial tournament rule,
as a result of which the chess program Rybka was stripped of its World
Computer Chess Champion titles and Rajlich was banned for life from ICGA
events.

Dr Riis gave his article a title to suggest that a miscarriage of justice
has taken place. The ICGA now responds with two rebuttal articles, one by
myself (as President of the ICGA) concerning some of the legalistic points
raised by Riis's article, and a robust detailed and thorough technical
rebuttal by Mark Watkins.

Everyone interested in the Rybka scandal should read both of these
rebuttals and then decide for themselves who and what they believe - Dr Riis
or the ICGA's investigation report.

I don't quiet understand such a big effort to resuscitate a dead horse ? Someone tell Mr Rajlich to get a new horse and perhaps a new rider and prey that no one discover him this time around. It's easier and cheaper than try to convince everybody of innocence with a smoking gun in his hand. IMHO. LOL.

I want to give a really big thanks to Ed Schroder, Soren Riis, Chris Whittington, Nelson Hernandez, Nick Carlin, Jeroen Noomen and Alan Sassler for their superb efforts in defending me against the accusations that I have broken ICGA tournament rules. Soren did a great job detailing the shenanigans pulled during the ICGA's investigation, from stacking the jury to premature public accusations to a comprehensive fabrication of evidence.

I also appreciate the tenacity of Chris Whittington and especially Ed Schroder in digging through the mountains of documents and answering them point by point.

Finally, I greatly appreciate the support that I have received from countless others. This support has been touching and uplifting and I really appreciate it. Thanks guys!

In other news, I'm working on Rybka. Rybka 5 will be ready sometime this year and the remote Rybka renting will be launched sometime after that. We'll make announcements on our web site and in our forum when we have more information. It should be a fun year.

Best wishes to everyone for a great 2012!

Vas
