Maybe the release is near.

Critter 1.6 was released at 06/26/2012. Exactly 1 year ago.

Judging by the fact that Mr. Vida knows everything about Houdini 3 (he even made a version of it called Robodini for experiment purposes - he showed that Houdini is undoubtedly an Ippolit derivative) I would not be surprised if the new Critter has about +75 ELO over its predecessor.

I think close to 25 till 30 would be great.
And I'm not sure about the version number.
But I guess more than 25 would be surprising since critter is already very strong.

Richard Vida named with odd numbers to development versions.
With even numbers the final versions.
Next version should be Critter 1.8

Richard Moreover assure that critter (in Rybka forum)
would not have
Houdini code.

Yes, I have already read. About the version number I know nothing. So if we R.V. believes Critter is also a separate engine. For me Critter and there Developer is great.

Version number Talkchess explained long ago.

The second point is what Richard has said.
It has also recognized that  OpenCritter is a "Pascal" copy the Houdini 1.5.
What I think is that possibly Richard has plenty to copy ...
And he knows it ...
It is a great developer and better desemsamblador, not their knowledge of chess. think

There is where we all fail, and which takes advantage Komodo, Larry is a GM.
Houdart has its good 22 ** elo FIDE.

As far as I understand these are only Robert Houdart's allegations. The same game he runs himself with Houdini (we all knows where come from) and indeed he is a great developer. But Critter is Freeware!

You do not plan it abandons Critter (which I do not want it) and/or in this case, I hope it gives the source code to the community? ...

40 elo stronger... wink

descriptionCritter 1.7 EmptyRe: Critter 1.7

An interesting question would be the strength of Houdini 4
I think it is only a little better, such as H2-optimized version of H3 by 10-15 points more in Blitz games and same strength in LTC.

Maybe really not, maybe R.Vida works only with Robodini?
