Ciao Steve!
With “smmax” NNN I always indicated the (decreasing) number of bytes of the source code.
After evolving the "standard" super micro-max (that doesn't take into account under promotion, castling and en-passant) with the management of FIDE rules I created another parallel version called “sm-fide” that - as the other - have NNN as suffix to indicate the source code size.
Then with this last release of this “fide” version I created a variant of it with embedded the “winboard interface” and suffixed it with the new code size.
To recap answering your question:
- “SM-Fide 760” is the fide version with source length of 760 with character interface
- “SM-Fide 760 - Winboard Interface 938” is the program above (the 760 bytes one) with embedded winboard interface and the new source length of 938 bytes
PS: on the repository there is also a suffix “l4” that indicates the search tree depth of 4 (the other – slower – has 5)
Hope is more clear! :)
